On 20 October 2026, the Polish Digital Society entered into a cooperation agreement with the OM NSZZ “Solidarność” trade union at Grupa Azoty Puławy S.A. As part of our statutory activities, we have embarked on a joint process to develop a strategic foresight framework for the plant, which also aims to set out the direction for the transformation of the entire chemical sector.
This initiative is intended to provide an alternative, far-reaching vision for development, enabling the optimal utilisation of the Plant’s potential and its transition to new business models with a global dimension. Our ambition is – building on the source material we already have to some extent – to create new market segments so that we can enter the race for competitiveness as early as possible.
Based on scenarios that have not yet become widespread trends, we will attempt to compile a catalogue of market needs. When these are combined with the potential and expertise of our partners, they will translate into a vision for alternative products and services. This will enable us to commence technical work on new solutions even before mass market demand for them arises, thereby strengthening the competitive position of the Plant and the entire industry. We do not wish to wait passively for change, but rather to create models of competitive advantage that will enable us to lay the foundations for a new market order, whilst ensuring job security and further growth.
We hope that this grassroots project is just the beginning of a wider process. At a time of radical changes in the geopolitical and technological landscape, and amidst a high level of uncertainty, the time has come for community-led initiatives which, beyond their substantive content, foster internal cohesion and chart new horizons.
We congratulate the Solidarity Trade Union at Grupa Azoty Puławy S.A. on this valuable initiative. For our part, we will do everything possible to make ZA Puławy S.A. a role model for others.
